What a woman wants in a man

It is true that every woman has got expectations from her man. She desires her ideal man to possess some sterling qualities, behave in a very decent manner and have the financial wherewithal to take care of her. Hope Samson spoke with a cross section of women folk on this subject matter.

Mrs. Charity Maduka has been married for 19 years. She is not interested in whether the man is tall or short, black or white, handsome or not, what matters to her is a man with genuine love, "I want love from my man because love covers multitude of sin. If love exists, he will easily forgive and not raise his hands to beat me or be aggressive," she said.
She added; "I also want a man that can endure, patient, gentle, easy going and caring. My man should be able to go the extra mile in helping out with the chores at home. He should be able to take me as his better half; he should be there for me always and help out with the house chores."

But Mrs. Becky Uwani, with 22 years marital experience said her ideal man must have some qualities that stand him out from others, "I want a man that is tall, dark in complexion and handsome. He should be a man that assists in house duties and allows me rest on his chest."

For Miss. Bisola Adelanwa, currently in a relationship, her ideal man can be of any complexion but she is quick to add that her man must be responsible in all ramifications, "I like a tall lanky, dark man. I think I can go with any complexion. I like a responsible man that has a good dress sense, not flashy but simple and casual.

"I respect a man that is hard working and not dependent on his salary. He should have other means of generating income to sustain himself and family.
"My man should be able to provide for me even without demanding for it. I get upset when a man makes me demand, he should be observant so as to know when I need things instead of expecting me to make demands all the times, "she said.
Priscillia Joseph is not interested in height, complexion or a good-looking man. All she's after is that the man must be educated and honest.
He words: "Men nowadays are bloody liars and it is very hard to find an honest man. Since most men are not honest, every woman has now devised a way of getting money from her husband if she really wants with her woman power."
Margaret Okere, an undergraduate said she wants a God-fearing and caring man. She believes that that once the man is caring and showers her with loves she is fine. "A man can't buy me with his money; he must not use his money to care for me. I feel he is trying to buy my love when he uses his money on me. Calling to ask how I feel and if I have eaten is enough for me to know that he cares for me. Even if he can't call, a flash is enough for me to know that he thinks of me daily."
Marvis Ogbeni, currently in a relationship said her man must be God-fearing. "A God-fearing man will make sure his spouse is comfortable on every side and would not want to hurt her because of the love of God that dwells in him.
"I am not moved by the outward appearance of a man, whether, tall or short, fair or black complexioned, rich or poor, ugly or handsome. I look for the inner qualities which makes a man responsible," she said.
She equally expects her man to have a listening ear and take her as a real woman, "A man that can protect me especially from a troublesome family or mother in-law, a man of understanding mostly when it comes to the areas where I am weak and willing to assist me, is my ideal man."
On her part, Helen Enebele said: "I just need a man with little money that will love me because there can't be love without money. I want a man with money and love at the same time and I don't think love can go without money."

YOBE ATTACK: Death Toll Rises To 78 As More Details Of The Attack Are Revealed

The death toll at the College of Agriculure, Gujba,Yobe State has risen to 78.

At least 50 of them were students who were attacked in the early hours of yesterday morning as they slept in their hostel.

Some were shot, others were butchered with swords and knives. The gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram sect members later moved to houses around the hostel, killing residents they find. Then they blocked the Damaturu-Maiduguri road and killed travellers.

So far, 78 bodies have been counted, with many more people still unaccounted for. A student of the college who survived the massacre explained what happened...

"They started gathering students into groups outside, then they opened fire and killed one group and then moved onto the next group and killed them. It was so terrible. They came with guns around 1a.m. and went directly to the male hostel and opened fire on them. The college is in the bush, so the other students were running around helplessly as guns went off and some of them were shot down."

The gunmen stormed the hostels in two double-cabin pickup all-terrain vehicles and on motorcycles, and were dressed in military camouflage. They attacked 4 male hostels but avoided the only hostel reserved for girls. Swords and knives were used to kill at least 30 male students.

Some corpses that were found were without heads while others had heads hanging to the bodies. Wailing parents and relatives were at the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital mortuary in Damaturu this morning to identify their loved ones. This can't continue. This government has to do something about the situation

REVEALED: How PDP Plans To Rig 2015 Polls And Destabilize Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress says it has uncovered a 'grand and serpentine' plot by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Presidency to rig the 2015 general elections, especially the presidential poll, and to destabilize Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Lagos today by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the multi-faceted strategy includes suppression of votes in areas where the President's chances are slim, using the police and the military.

According to APC, the PDP and the Presidency also plan to use what they have tagged a 'Third Force' to:

    •    Bamboozle Nigerians and project the image of a performing Presidency, even when they admit that the current public perception of the government is less than salutary because of its weakness and lack of vision;

    •    Engage in the destabilization of the APC using moles and fifth columnists;

    •    Instigate chaos in the South-West using what they called the ''Old Afenifere Guards'' and

    •    Infiltrate and weaken socio-cultural and socio-political organizations in areas they deem to be unfavourable to the President.

Shockingly, APC said, the PDP/Presidency's grand plot also does not exclude even the PDP itself, as they are pursuing a strategy of decisively and ruthlessly purging from the ranks of the party's inner decision-making caucus all recalcitrant members, including governors and House of Representatives members. '

'The dogged pursuit of this action of dealing with supposed recalcitrant members has led to suspensions, expulsions and alienation of some PDP members, and it was the immediate trigger of the collapse of the party of tattered umbrella,'' APC said. ''After all, it is said that a house divided against itself cannot stand." Elaborating on the plot, APC said the North-East and the North-West have been singled out as areas where votes must be suppressed in 2015, by creating an enabling environment for the deployment of ''special forces'' in the run-up to the 2015 elections. To that end, it said the plan involves launching police/military actions in the run-up to 2015, to ensure most of the registered voters in the zones are disenfranchised. ''The reason these two geo-political zones have been singled out for 'vote suppression' is because of what the PDP/Presidency called the 'voting demographics' in the zones in 2011. The North West had 18,900, 543 registered voters in 2011 while the North-East had 10,038,119.

By contrast, the President's 'safe support base' of South-South and South-East had 8,937,057 and 7,028,560 respectively, the total of which was less than that of the North-West alone! ''The PDP/Presidency therefore believe that unless the votes in these two zones are suppressed, and those of the South-West (14,298,356) stifled one way or the other, the chances of the President winning re-election are very poor. Needless to say that these three zones (NE, NW and SW) are considered to be hostile to the President, hence must be tamed,'' APC said. With regards to the Third Force, APC said it involves railroading unsuspecting credible and independent-minded Nigerians with deep knowledge of, and extensive penetration of the media, civil society, labour, youth, women and ethnic nationalities into the plan, in which they will be given scripts written by the government and sent out to inundate the airwaves and the print media, posing as experts and public analysts to peddle lies and reel out statistics that have no bearing on the standard of living of the average Nigerian. It said that perhaps the most dangerous aspect of the plot is the determined attempt by the PDP/Presidency to constrict the democratic space by moving against the main opposition party which they regard as a ''real threat'' to the President if it (the party) does not implode or is forced to break up before 2015.

"The strategy to achieve this is multi-pronged: The PDP/Presidency will use those they called fifth columnists, disillusioned party members and 'deep cover plants' to fracture the APC; Play up clash of ambitions among its leaders, as well as create and empower a new anti-APC political force in the South-West, comprising the old Afenifere guards whom they described as spent and disillusioned forces, but who can be manipulated to achieve the desired objective of neutralizing the APC; And to revive some dormant political forces." APC said while it is not bothered by the desperation of the PDP/Presidency to engage in unfair and foul means to win elections, it is astounded that a democratically-elected President will resort to actions that are far from democratic just to retain power at all costs.

''The PDP/Presidency should know that no power in the world can stop an idea whose time has come. For Nigeria, this is the time for change, and change will come in spite of the shenanigans of the devilish duo. Our hope is that these desperadoes do not destroy the country in their rabid ambition,'' the party said. It called on Nigerians to be vigilant in the days, weeks and months ahead as the PDP/Presidency begin to roll out their grand plot.

Young, Rich Rulers Of Naija Music

A new generation of artistes are rocking the entertainment scene and smiling to the bank, JAYNE AUGOYE reports

A wind of change is currently blowing across the music industry in Nigeria. A new order championed by young, vibrant and talented artistes has emerged. Rather than curse the day that their children decided to embrace a career in music instead of education, the parents of these wave-making artistes are pleased with the success they have achieved.

Today, the young artistes are giving the older and established stars a run for their money. These new-wave superstars now rub shoulders with the same artistes whom they once looked up to or chose as role models.

Apart from competing with the 'old guards' in terms of income and expenditure, they are often nominated for major music awards in similar categories.

Multinationals and telecommunications outfits, as well as other major events sponsors, have realised that the younger generation of music artistes represent the future of entertainment in Nigeria. With a good number of them aged between 20 and 25 years and a few others barely clocking 30, the sky seems to be the limit.

Many of the emerging stars are not just rich; they flaunt their wealth at every given opportunity. It seems that the rewards for their modest efforts at making many Nigerians happy are without limit and they always come in the form of luxury mansions, sold-out concerts, huge fan base, state-of-the-art cars, bestselling albums, multi-million naira endorsement deals, chattered flights, big budget videos, custom-made outfits, 'bling bling' and generous airplay on terrestrial TV stations.

Usually dressed in sagging pairs of trousers with expensive jewellery around their necks, many of them charge as much as N1.5m to mime to their songs for only 10 minutes at wedding parties or concerts. Many of them had to drop out of school to pursue a career in music.

E-Punch presents six young music stars that have taken the music scene by storm.

Wizkid

At 23, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, a.k.a Wizkid, leads the pack. A string of endorsement deals, including one from MTN, has placed him on the list of big earning music artistes in Nigeria. At present, he is the highest paid Pepsi Ambassador in Africa and he lives in a N140m choice home in Lekki, Lagos.

Wizkid's personal cars include a N14.6million Porsche Panamera, Rolls Royce, N10m BMW X6, N6million blue Volkswagen convertible and a Hyndai Sonata.

The talented singer, songwriter and performer has emerged one of Nigeria's hottest music acts, seven years after he broke into the Nigerian music scene. The last child in a family of six, Wizkid began to sing at the age of 11. Like new wine, his performance matured with age. His talent has taken him to different parts of the world and seen him perform alongside world class artistes, such as Chris Brown, Akon, and Young Jeezy, and Kardinal Official.

The young man's fortunes improved in 2012, a few months after he released his Superstar album. As expected, his rating soared in the same year and he was named the second most influential Nigerian artiste on Twitter, an enviable position which clearly reflected his growing popularity.

Wizkid's position on the African music chart was further justified after he made it to the Channel O/Forbes List of Bankable African Artistes. Mentioned alongside big weights like Don Jazzy, Psquare, D'banj, he was placed ahead of Tuface Idibia, on the list. Early in the year, he threw a free appreciation party for his fans at the New African Shrine. He has the BET, MTV, Channel O, Ghana Music Awards to his credit.

Olamide

Olamide Adedeji, aka Badoo, has succeeded in filling the vacuum created by the death of rap sensation, Dagrin. The alternative rapper, who has redefined the word Razz as the new cool, has been dubbed the 'king of the streets. He recently signed a multimillion naira endorsement deal with the makers of Ciroc Ultra Premium vodka.

For the self acclaimed 'Voice of the Street', who grew up in the Bariga area of Lagos, fame did not come cheap. He fell in love with rap music at a tender age and was always visiting renowned producer ID Cabasa's music studio in his school uniform.

Today, Olamide hobnobs with some of the industry big names, especially D'banj. Pictures of both artistes surfaced online and their close relationship gave room to speculation that he had been signed on to the seld-styled Koko Master's record label.

The rapper's hit songs comprise Jale, Street Love, Jesu O kola, Durosoke, Stupid Love, First of All and Ilefo Illuminati. His forthcoming album titled 'Baddest Guy Ever Liveth' will be released in October.

Today, the 24-year-old star acquired a brand new 2013 Range Rover Sport. He also topped the winners list at the 2013 Nigerian Entertainments Awards in New York, US, with three awards.

Ice Prince

Twenty-six-year-old Ice Prince lives like a true superstar. A proud owner of a 2010 model of Bentley GT, a Range Rover SUV, among many others, the Chocolate City Records 'golden boy' is also a BET Awards winner. Since his first single 'Oleku' was released, he has witnessed a meteoric rise to the top.

He gained international recognition after beating 2face Idibia to the Best International Act Award at the BET Awards. He recently relocated from his apartment in Palm Groove Estate, Lagos to a bigger apartment in the Ogudu area, after completing a mansion in his hometown, Jos. The buzz around him got louder after he appeared in Yvonne Nelson's 'House of Gold' alongside Ghanaian actor, Majid Michael.

Dammy Krane

At 19, this 2face Idibia protégé is the youngest of the pack. He hit the limelight after signing on 2face's Hypertek Records in 2012. He started singing when he was eight years-old in the toddlers' choir in church. By the time he clocked 11, he was already a back-up singer for other artistes. His mum, who is currently based in the US, manages a number of Fuji artistes.

Long before he put out an official single, music video, or inked a record deal, he had over 4,000 followers on twitter. With his hit singles, My Dear and Ligali, the artiste known for his melodic voice, engaging lyrics and exciting genre of alternative music has collaborated with the biggest names in the industry.

Burna Boy

Burna Boy made newspaper headlines after reports emerged that he sold the marketing rights to his debut album, 'Leaving an impact for eternity' for N10m to popular Alaba music and movie marketer, Uba Pacific.

The album is also said to have made a record sale of 40,000 units on the day of its release.

The singer has the backing of his grandfather, Benson Idonije, who was the manager of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti.

Burna Boy officially broke into the music industry in December 2010 when he moved back to Nigeria from London and has remained a household name in Port-Harcourt. But, it wasn't until June, 2012, when he made a cross-over to the Lagos music scene with his mid-tempo Summer Jam, Like to Party. He is a Globacom Ambassador.

Davido

At 20, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is one of the most popular young artistes in Nigeria. The singer drew the attention of millions of music fans when he introduced himself as Omo baba olowo in his hit song titled Dami duro. Translated from Yoruba to English language, it means 'son of a rich man'.

Davido, whose father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, is the chairman of Keplo-Pacific Energy Pacific, a company that is involved in banking, steel, power and energy, found his way to the top as if with the snap of a finger.

The youngster, who is not afraid to boast about his father's wealth, always causes a stir on Twitter with his controversial tweets.

So far, he has won some international awards and performed at various shows within and outside the country. He is also the face of MTN Pulse.

Davido's personal collection of exotic cars comprise a silver 2012 Honda Accord, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, which he won for being 'Next Rated' at the 2012 Headies, a N12m 2012 Audi Q7, N17m Chevrolet Camaro and a N21m Mercedes Benz G55 AMG, his fifth car since he shot to fame last year.

List Of Nollywood Stars Turned Pastors

I came across this article and decided to share it with you all.

It's an article comprising Nollywood stars that after the stardom faded, they switched over to God

Enjoy!!!

We've seen more Nollywood stars take to pastor-ship in the last 3-5 years more than ever. Although many have criticized their decisions to become pastors, most times judging by their past life.

Vanguard Newspaper's Benjamin Njoku review their past and their sojourn to pastorship

Zack-Orji

Zack Orji

Ex-President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,AGN, Zack Orji can be described as "a gentleman without blemish." This, no doubt informed his decision to become a worker in the Vineyard of God. Zack Orji ordained a full-time evangelist by Bishop Emma Isong of Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI).

He is said to have dedicated his time to preaching the gospel of good tidings across the nations of the world. The veteran actor has been spotted in such cities as Abuja, Nasarawa and Makurdi where he is engaged in various evangelical activities. But this, however, has not stopped him from storming the celebrity hangout, in Surulere to fraternize with his friends and colleagues in the movie industry.

Eucharia Anunobi at her inauguration as a pastor

Eucharia Anunobi at her inauguration as a pastor

Eucharia Anunobi

In fact, Eucheria Anunobi's conversion was the most talked about conversion to Christ in recent times. The actress who ruled the screen in the early 90s with her role in the film "Glamour Girls" has been trailed with many controversies and scandals, most of which bothered on her relationships and crashed marriage. But after many years of being in the news for the wrong reasons, Eucheria shocked her fans when she announced she had given her life to Christ. Few months after the announcement, UK was ordained at the Fresh Oil Ministry, Egbeda, Lagos, as an evangelist.

Interestingly, with her ordination which was performed by Pastor Psalm Okpe, Eucharia willed the power to preach as a pastor and she's doing so, without looking back. Those in the know said, she already counsels youths in the church and travels at random to spread the gospel of salvation.

This, however, has not taken away some of the traits that made her fans term her "a bad girl" before her transformation. She is still flashy and daring. Just weeks after the ordination, Eucheria bought a brand new BMW X5. Severally, she has refuted reports that she has abandoned her acting career for the work of God. Instead, she pointed out that she would be choosier in accepting roles in movies.

Pat AttahPat Attah

Pat Attah? That play boy actor who broke the hearts of many 'Nollywood babes' during his time, and left as soon as the ovation was loud. The once-upon-a-dreadlock-turned clean cut actor, is currently based in Hamburg, Germany where he's winning souls for Christ. Those in the know said, he does not preach in churches, rather he is now very much a born-again.

Many knew him before he left the shores of the country as one who was close to the ladies and in love with the bottle. Today, reading his posts online, one would acknowledge the fact that Pat is a new creature in Christ. He often uses social network sites including Facebook to deliver his sermon and messages to those who care to read them. But what we don't know is how he has been faring over there.

Liz Benson

Elizabeth Benson, popularly known as Liz Benson used to be the toast of many lovers of Nigerian films and TV series. Her journey into stardom began when she appeared on the set of the popular television soap opera, Fortunes, in 1993. Liz Benson played the part of Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the soap, which ran for about two years on the NTA. After that, she acted in various TV series and many movies.

In 1994, her role in Glamour Girls, a very successful home video that focused on prostitution, literally changed her fortunes. The movie shot her into prominence and soon, she became a subject of many scandals and controversies, forcing her to disappear from teh scene, in order to rebrand herself. But as luck would have it, she got married to her Bishop Great Emeya husband in 2009, at the Rainbow Christian Assembly in Warri, Delta State. She has since been ordained an evangelist in the church. Presently, she runs the church with her husband.

Charles Okafor

Charles Okafor who staged a comeback to Nollywood recently in Uche Jombo's film, "Misplaced" after disappearing from the radar is also one of the actors that are winning souls for Christ. He used to act alongside Saint Obi, Zack Orji and Richard Mofe Damijo and has made a name for himself before disappearing from the scene.

The UNIPORT trained actor who starred in such films as Forest of Promises, Ocean Deep, Across the River, Between Love, Boiling Point, and Executive Connection, worked briefly with the Security and Exchange Commission, before resigning to go into full time acting. Recently, he was spotted at a filling station around Isolo area of Lagos, and from the way, he looked, the handsome actor has surely given up the things of this world.

Okey Ogunjiofor

Okechukwu Ogunjiofor is known to be the founder of Nollywood. He produced the film, Living in Bondage which gave birth to Nollywood. With the explosion of this movie in 1992, Nollywood prides itself today as second to the largest movie industry in the world after 20 years of its existence. But this man who started this innovation engage himself more in other aspects of movie production. He hardly features in movies but appears on special arrangement. He has since reconciled himself with his maker. Today, he is not only a preacher of teh Word, he is also House of God. He is also a motivational speaker and unknown to many, Paullo as he's fondly called by his fans is an author of many Christian literature

Lamido: Mutual Distrust Between ASUU, FG Prolonging Strike

Gov. Sule Lamido of Jigawa on Saturday appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to end the ongoing strike in the interest of the students.

Lamido made the appeal when he received a delegation from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Dutse.

He said it was unfortunate that the industrial action was still on almost three months since it began.

The governor blamed the protracted strike on lack of trust between the Federal Government and ASUU.

"It is really unfortunate that the strike has lasted up until this time. There is no trust between the two bodies and when there is no trust it will be difficult to have a common ground.

"As a parent, I am so worried seeing our children that supposed to be in school at home.

"I am appealing to ASUU to go back to the classroom while the negotiation with the government continues," he said.

Lamido, however, pleaded with the Federal Government to continue to dialogue with the union, even after the strike had been called off.

He said this would enable the two parties to sort out the gray areas in the dispute, adding that ASUU and the Federal Government should approach the dialogue with sincerity.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr Ahmed Jibril, appealed to Lamido to intervene to end the lingering industrial action.

Jibril, who is the Vice President National Affairs, NANS, said that it was unfortunate for students to be allowed to stay at home for more than three months as a result of the strike.

According to him, parents and students are left to bear the consequences of the strike.

He told Lamido that they were in the state on tour of education facilities. (NAN)

Ancelotti slams Pique

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hit back at Gerard Pique after the Barcelona defender said a penalty decision was like "watching a comedy".

Pique took to Twitter after Real's controversial win over Elche on Wednesday night.

"Watching a comedy film on Canal+ Liga," Pique posted. "It's always good at this hour of the night!"

Asked about Pique's comments after the match, Ancelotti was far from impressed.

"He has to think more about playing than talking. He is better on the pitch than off it," the Italian said.

Elche appeared to have earned a point when Richmond Boakye's header a minute into stoppage time cancelled out Cristiano Ronaldo's free kick.

But, deep into added on time, the match official controversially awarded Madrid a penalty for a foul on Pepe and Ronaldo converted to hand Los Blancos all three points.

Post-match replays suggested the decision was contentious.

"It's hard to talk about these situations because from the bench our position is not the best," Ancelotti said of the penalty decision.

"Generally speaking I don't like to talk about refereeing decisions. I spoke with Pepe and he told me it was a clear penalty.

"I am not happy. We need to play differently. We suffered a lot during the match, particularly during the closing minutes of the match.

"We won't win the derby if we play like we have done in this match, that's why I think we need to improve, play with more intensity and personality.

"I think that we are going to come across teams that defend well and are hard to break down. We need to come up with the different solutions.

"At the moment the team is playing slowly, there are no options between the lines and we play a lot down the wings and that makes it easy for the opposition's defence."

Stop Faking Good Sex, It May Ruin Your Marriage

Many couples believe that when it comes to good sex, if you can't beat them surely you can join them. They fake everything about sex from the beginning to the end. After many rounds of faking, sex becomes predictable and discarded. Some couples fight to regain the spark back and make blue films their guiding light but yet after a while they wonder; no explosions of passion. No breathy proclamations of desire, no tumultuous climax.

How can everyone in movies be having fiery, combustible sex when we barely create a spark?

Relax. Do you know that TV shows and movies give us this much lopsided representation of what sex is supposed to be like.  Everyone seems to be climaxing and having orgasms all the time from whatever they're doing. They make you believe something is wrong with you or your spouse. Sex in the real world isn't always perfect, and it doesn't have to always end with an earth-shattering climax. Real-life sex can almost never measure up to the passion portrayed on the screen. Because films don't talk about the fact that it's likely that in an odd position, the acting couples pass gas or the love of their life has bad breath while they kiss. Or the shape and weight of their spouse is a big hindrance.

Even when everything else in the relationship is working, sexual styles aren't always compatible. You like long foreplay sessions. Your spouse may be ready to go in an instant. You long for wet, sensual kisses. He prefers dry, chaste pecks. Sex is not just naturally perfect most time.

The mistake many couples make is expecting the energy, sexual excitement, eagerness and the passion of their sex life when their relationship was still new to continue for ever. But as time goes on they forget that it is better to learn how to dance together and bump noses or knees instead of faking passion and orgasm.

Long-term couples can easily tell their spouses what dress or shirt they like them to wear, or what they like for dinner, but they tend to get tongue-tied when it comes to the topic of sex and rather result to faking than enjoyment. They're afraid of hurting their partners' feelings, so they don't tell them what they like or don't like. But you're not going to get it unless you ask for it.

So how do I tell my partner what I want without bruising his or her ego? I think it's really in how you bring up the statement; you can have the conversation whenever and wherever it's most comfortable for you. But before you talk, you need to know exactly what it is about your sex life that bothers you. Is it a question of technique? personal hygiene? timing? Once you know what isn't working for you there are things you can suggest that can ease those circumstances 'I would love it if we…' or, 'could we try this?' if something about your partner's smell is turning you off, suggest taking a bath together before making love. If you crave more foreplay, ask for slower drive into sex.

After you've tried talking and the sex still isn't working, experiment together; learn to get to know each other's bodies. Try some sex aids. Read books with pictures (such as Sexual Intimacy in Marriage by Funmi Akingbade), or watch an educational video together not porn, but explicit videos in which a voice-over explains what's happening in the scenes. Sometimes, the problem is a physical one, such as premature ejaculation. Or it may be that the stress from your job is bleeding over into the bedroom and disrupting your sex life. In those cases it can help to see a sex therapist. If you're faking sex, you're doing yourselves a disservice because you do not understand what really turns you both on. If you're still unsatisfied, you may wonder if it is ever OK to fake it in bed. Faking sex will eventually take a toll on the relationship and your spouse is going to realise that you're disconnected. And when the other party notices a disconnection, many things happen to the relationship. Either one party takes to becoming addicted to cyber-sex, or solo sex or outright exchange of sex partner and infidelity. Can fake sex ever be bad enough to consider ending a relationship over? Possibly. Every couple has the potential to have good sex if you're willing to put a little effort into it. Good sex doesn't necessarily have to be about an orgasm. It can just be an emotionally fulfilling experience between spouses.

Okada Man Throws Himself Before Trailer Over His Seized Bike

I am not really happy writing this. Why? It shows the fragility with which some Nigerians are hanging  on to life, it shows the degree to which African leaders have bastardized life and living so much so that some Nigerians just give up. On Thursday, the 26th of September 2013, an okada (commercial bike operator) man full of anger and desperation tried to join his ancestors in Oyo State. Wetin happen?

His okada was seized by the officers of the Oyo State Commercial Vehicle Registration Unit when his papers were discovered to be fake. Pronto, the poor man threw himself before and oncoming trailer and then did the same with an SUV. Eyewitnesses say that the okada man tried begging the officers but when he saw that they were not ready to listen to him, he attempted to take his own life by jumping in front two oncoming vehicles. He shouted:  "Let me end this life, it is too much for me".

Luckily for him, there were kind-hearted Nigerians in the area who rescued him on both suicidal attempts. He later went into shock and was said to have started foaming in the mouth. Policemen later arrived at the scene and catapulted him to the hospital. But wait o, why are original documents of vehicles difficult for Nigerians to procure. Why do the road safety/vehicle inspection officers and their ilk like making life difficult for people? They will be the one to issue you a license and they will also declare it to be fake. Inasmuch as I will not encourage flouting of the laws, the relevant bodies should also make life easy for Nigerians when it comes to registration of our vehicles (computerize the thing and stop terrorizing people on the streets, na only poor people you sabi ask for particulars!). No need to extort anyone simply because they want to get their particulars. As for the okada man, please get well soon. Make you no die now, your family loves you :) And give him his okada! That's all :D

THANK YOU.

Nigeria will depart for their important 2014 Fifa World Cup play-off first leg match against Ethiopia on October 11, two days before the game, Goal has learnt.

The Ethiopian Football Federation announced yesterday that the match will hold on Sunday October 13 at the National Stadium in Addis Ababa.

The Super Eagles will be preceded by an advance party of the Nigeria Football Federation that will ensure everything is set for their sojourn in the city.

"The team will depart Nigeria on Friday, 11th October and there will be an advance party to leave several days before to sort out the team's accommodation and other logistics," NFF assistant director of media Ademola Olajire told Goal.

The Super Eagles head into this crunch tie with the resurgent Walya Antelopes who only returned to the Africa Cup of Nations this year after an absence of 31 years.

The second leg of the winner-takes-all match-up will hold in Calabar on November 16 to determine which of the two sides will pick one of five African tickets to the World Cup in Brazil.

Revealed: Why Mata & Luiz are falling foul of Mourinho's ambition at Chelsea

"I've never worked so hard as I'm doing now. Never. I had different situations at the other clubs, but here I work hard every day." - Jose Mourinho, September 2013.

If there was one person who thought Chelsea possessed the Premier League's strongest group of footballers at the end of this transfer window past his name was Roman Abramovich. When Jose Mourinho talks about working harder than he's ever done the degree of effort is Stakhanovite.

Returning to Stamford Bridge was always going to require special application of his coaching talents. Not because the squad was poor, but because it was imbalanced. Before accepting the position, Mourinho regarded the players already at Chelsea, parked abroad, or, like Andre Schurrle, already lined up for purchase, as able. The issue was that they'd been recruited for a different model of football.

Abramovich wanted Chelsea to play like Barcelona. Monitoring every recruitment decision, and driving several of them, the Russian had assembled a group biased towards young, technically minded footballers. Many were relatively lightweight for the physical demands of English football; many tended to play the ball laterally rather than attack space.

With coaching appointments scattered like confetti, it is no coincidence that Chelsea has finished second, sixth and a final-day third in their last three Premier League campaigns. For three years players who'd grown to regard their positions as far more permanent than their managers' have never once threatened to win the title.

Accepting Abramovich's decision to adhere to UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations, Mourinho drew up a plan to rebalance the squad to deliver a form of football that would satisfy the owner. Chelsea's game would be possession-based, defending high up the park, pressing opponents into quickly conceded transitions. Technical, fast and effective.

The Portuguese identified three key areas to reinforce. Instead of juggling the varied shortcomings of John Terry, Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic, he wanted an unquestioned starting centre back. A player with pace, strength in the tackle and an ability to begin attacks. One who wouldn't forget his marking duties, produce at least one random error a game, or allow opponents to run unheeded off his shoulder.

The midfield also lacked a figure who could balance defence and attack. Mourinho wanted a player who could shield the back four, recover possession and knew the correct moment to release the ball forward. Chelsea's other central problem was so obvious only a blind emperor couldn't see it. Fernando Torres had to be replaced by a striker who could be relied on to score goals himself and create for his team-mates.

As money was limited, and Chelsea were overloaded with attacking midfielders, Mourinho proposed the pragmatic strategy of cashing on David Luiz and Juan Mata. Torres' ludicrously high salary was to be moved on to anyone prepared to bear it – a transfer fee would be a bonus.

"Mata, Torres and Azpilicueta, according to some close observers, are 'being treated like lepers' by Mourinho, who is supposedly punishing them for their close relationship with predecessor Rafa Benitez"

In better circumstances, Mourinho would have retained both David Luiz and Mata. The Brazil international's attributes are obvious and in many ways suited to the coach's methods. Yet a propensity for errors and wild departures from the tactical plan left him unsuited to a starter's role in either defence or midfield so the idea was to sell.

The reasons behind Mata's demotion have been laid clear over the past week. Mourinho prefers Oscar as his main creative force because the Brazilian has a superior all-round game. Mata tends to play across the park, struggles to complete 90 minutes and is defensively weak.

"Juan has to learn how to play in the way I want to play," explained Mourinho. "He has to be more consistent and participate more when the team lose the ball. It is not his fault, it is just a consequence of the way he has played in the last years. Since he arrived at Chelsea, Chelsea have played very defensive football and with a low block all the time. The team was playing with two lines of four and playing counter attack football. Juan has fantastic quality and is very intelligent in the way he uses the ball. Now the situation is completely different."

That the debate over Mata has grown so central to discussion of Mourinho's new Chelsea is principally down to the club's summer transfer dealings. The returning manager received none of his preferred reinforcements. Instead, Abramovich negotiated a £30million transfer fee for yet another attacking midfielder, Willian, securing the deal by taking the over-paid problem Samuel Eto'o had become at Anzhi Makhachkala off the hands of fellow Russian oligarch Suleyman Kerimov.

Not only was Mata still at Stamford Bridge, he faced more competition for a place. Instead of adding a reliable central defender, midfielder and forward, Mourinho ended up loaning out Romelu Lukaku and Victor Moses to make room for the two arrivals from Anzhi.

Mata, Torres and Cesar Azpilicueta have started three Premier and Champions League fixtures between them, prompting talk of an anti-Spanish selection rule. According to some close observers the trio are "being treated like lepers" by Mourinho who is supposedly punishing them for their close relationship to predecessor Rafa Benitez. If the theory is clearly laughable, it does not aid an already difficult job.

The hard work Mourinho refers to is the training ground effort required to educate a cadre of younger players brought in on fees, salaries and reputations grander than their tactical intelligence. Infuriatingly unnecessary mistakes have been generated a failure to follow instruction. Too many individuals are struggling with basic phase of play, needlessly ceding possession by forcing the ball forward at the wrong moment. A failure to make tackles or harry the opposition as a unit have magnified the problem.

None of this irrecoverable, but as Mourinho once reminded his audience at a previous employer "I'm a coach, I'm not Harry Potter". Even the very best require the support of those around them to deliver everything

Why Payment Of Disengaged PHCN Staff Is Being Delayed – FG

The reason for delay in payment of the entitlements of disengaged staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, has been disclosed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Godknows Igali, who yesterday explained that the delay was to ensure that no mistakes were made.

Speaking to newsmen after a meeting with Vice President Namadi Sambo at the Presidential Villa, Igali said the delay notwithstanding, remarkable progress has been achieved in the privatisation of the PHCN.

He however promised that all issues relating to labour and others would be resolved before the handover and takeover, adding that "There is progress in the handing over of the 10 distribution companies and four generating companies, we are in the last stages. A formal ceremony will take place to hand over the documents to the new owners.

"There will be no physical handover until the end of this year. We are starting with handing over of the documents, the protocol ceremony for Mr. President to preside over after which, we have one month to undertake cropping issues, for example labour.

"We are making very good progress to ensure that all workers are paid. When you are dealing with paying accounts of workers, about 40,000 people, you have to be careful because it is not something you rush into.

"So, we think that when the hand over of the documents is done, we still have another one month to ensure that we look into claims and so on before the final physical take off."

According to Igali, the meeting with Sambo was a periodic review of progress on work on the power plants and the need to deal with issues pertaining to ensuring that when the project eventually comes on stream, there would be supply of gas.

He therefore urged Nigerians to be optimistic as he noted that the implementation of the present administration's power masterplan was encouraging.

"All things are going on very well. Let's be optimistic. The other sectors that the private sector took over, there is an exponential change in the sector. We saw it in telecommunication. You all were here when it takes a day before you make a call before private sector took over. But today, Nigerians have access to telephones.

"In the banking sector, when you go to banks, you queue up for almost a whole day taking a tally to wait. Today, you can stay in your office and perform your banking transactions because the private sector took over.

"In the power sector, the government has gone to the private sector and they have shown strong and robust commitment to this country. Despite the fact that we still have power outages, the private sector have shown robust commitment that they are committed to working together with the government."

"Everybody around the world said that it will not work, that in Nigeria nobody buy assets. But there are Nigerian businessmen, bankers teamed up with people to buy these assets and they want to bring in the dynamism, the effectiveness of the private sector.

"Let's give them a chance and see how they are going to transform the power sector, let us be optimistic and hopeful. So far we have done well with the process, We have been transparent and now we are in the last point of handing over to the private sector."

"In the short term, there will be appreciable result and when we get to the medium, the country will be better for it," the permanent secretary added.

Borno Awards N2bn Contract For Takeoff Of State University

The Borno State Government has said it would soon award a N2 billion contract for construction work at the permanent site of the proposed Borno State University.

Stating this while receiving members of the Governing Council of the University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID, in his office, Gov. Kashim Shettima said government was determined to erect structures that would be a pride to all indigenes of the state.

"In a couple of days, we will be awarding a N2 billion contract to build structures at the permanent site of the Borno State University to be established in Maiduguri.

"The idea is to put in place world-class structures that can stand the test of time.

"We do not want to have a glorified secondary school as the permanent site for our state university," Shettima said.

The governor said the state government won't be in a rush, but would take its time to ensure it puts in place befitting structures at the university.

"Even if it will take us two or more years to build, we will ensure we put in place befitting structures," he said.

Shettima gave assurances that the state government would partner with UNIMAID towards the successful take-off of the state university.

"I want to assure you that we are willing to partner with UNIMAID in many areas towards developing the state," he said.

He also promised to explore the possibilities of assisting UNIMAID, a Federal Government-owned university, to tackle its problem of perennial water shortage, this he said in response to the Chairman of UNIMAID's Governing Council, Alhaji Ballama Manu, who had sought the state government's intervention in tackling the water shortage problem on the campus.

Manu also urged the state government to assist the university in the area of road rehabilitation and provision of houses for staff.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday announced that 100,435 illegal, uncompleted buildings have been marked for demolition following a raid by security operatives on an uncompleted building believed to be a hideout of Boko Haram members near the legislative quarters at Apo, Abuja, last Friday, which claimed 10 lives.

Disclosing this when the House of Representatives' Committee on Public Safety and National Security visited his office on oversight duties, FCT minister, Senator Bala Mohammed said 100,000 illegal buildings and 435 uncompleted houses have so far been identified in the FCT to be pulled down. He explained that his administration would no longer condone the delays by developers in completing their buildings, after being allocated plots of land.

"Very soon, we will take a decisive action on uncompleted buildings in the FCT. We will ensure that all buildings that have exceeded the two-year period approved for building will be demolished. If we cannot demolish, we will make them police posts. This time around, we will take a definite action," he said.

Boko Haram Militants Open Fire In Church Killing Pastor, Two Kids

Suspected Boko Haram Islamists on Thursday opened fire in a church in Nigeria's restive northeast, killing the pastor and his two children before setting fire to the building and fleeing, the military said.

Boko Haram, which has said it is fighting to create an Islamic state in mainly Muslim northern Nigeria, has repeatedly attacked churches in its four-year insurgency.

"Unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists attacked" the church in Yobe state early on Thursday, area military spokesman Eli Lazarus said in a statement.

"During the attack, a pastor and his two children were killed," he said.

The church "and two other houses in the community were burnt by the gunmen before fleeing the scene of the incident," the statement further said.

The killings occurred in the town of Dorawa, some 30 kilometres (18 miles) from the site of a brutal school attack in July that saw dozens of students slaughtered.

Yobe was one of three northeastern states placed under a state of emergency in mid-May as the military launched a major offensive aimed at crushing Boko Haram.

Yobe has seen less violence than neighbouring Borno state, Boko Haram's base, but the insurgents have carried out major attacks there.

Attacks on churches, including suicide bombings, were once a near weekly occurence but have declined in recent months.

Since the emergency measures were imposed Boko Haram has largely targeted civilians as well as vigilante groups which have formed to help the military.

The latest violence came after the emergence of a new video, in which a man who resembles Boko Haram's leader mocked reports of his possible death.

Abubakar Shekau, declared a global terrorist by the United States, taunted the regional military spokesman who said he "may have been" fatally wounded in a clash on June 30.

While Shekau's whereabouts and condition are unknown, the violence has continued, casting doubt on the success of the four-month-old military offensive.

The Boko Haram conflict was earlier this year estimated to have killed more than 3,600 people, including deaths caused by the security forces. The current toll is likely much higher. [AFP]
